Courtyard by Marriott Dallas Northwest

I stayed in Room 156, which was excellent and had everything a guest could want. The staff were great, and the service was excellent. The bistro bar was awesome, with very funny staff. My trip at Courtyard Dallas was very good overall.

The heat and air conditioning unit was so loud that I took a star off the room rating. Everything else was great, including the prompt and accommodating staff. The hotel was clean and fairly updated. I only stayed one quick night, so I didn’t use the amenities. It was a nice little perk that rewards members got both water and snacks.

The room was dark all the time, with only two dim lamps and no overhead lights. Its old, noisy window air conditioner was built into the wall, and a gap of about an inch and a half under the door let in all the hallway noise while I tried to sleep. Check-in alone took nearly 30 minutes, and the staff seemed completely inept. The elevators were broken, so getting to rooms above the first floor meant taking the stairs. It was a terrible stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The place does look mostly renovated on the surface, but as a lifetime Titanium member who practically lives in Bonvoy hotels, I was very disappointed. None of the bedside table outlets worked. The TV was so old it had no guide or streaming tools like the other Marriotts I’ve stayed in for years. The shower didn’t seem updated and wasn’t somewhere I wanted to step into. The bed was hard as a rock, and there was plenty more wrong. I’m looking to check out early and move elsewhere for the rest of the week. This just doesn’t meet the Marriott Courtyard standard.
