Motel 6 Denton - UNT

The second time we stayed, we used a discount from the 'Super' motel discount website and ended up in an awful room. The floorboards were uneven and damaged, and we kept tripping over them. And the bugs, OMG. On our first visit we paid full price and got a pretty decent room, though it needed more lighting. Be wary if you stay here!

The bathroom and sink worked, and the bed was tolerable. Beyond that, it was a nasty experience. The room smelled like the greasy kitchen of an old Chinese restaurant, the linens were stained and past their use date, and the blanket felt yuck. There were large soft spots in several parts of the floor. The walls were patched carelessly, and some kind of plate was screwed onto the lower half of the door. Other tenants were loud and hanging out in the halls. I hadn’t realized this was one of those voucher type places for extended stays. I’m surprised nothing was stolen from the moving truck or the back of the pickup. Service gets a 3 only because I didn’t talk to anyone. Move on and save yourself a nasty experience.

I stopped here for the night during Christmas and checked in around midnight. The gentleman at the front desk was pleasant and got me a room quickly. It was clean overall, and the TV and WiFi were fine for basic leisure. I’d recommend this spot over other places in this part of the city.

The staff were polite, and the cleaning service was very sweet. My first room didn’t suit me, but within 24 hours they moved me to a nice one overlooking the pool. I’d stay again if I got a similar room. It’s nothing fancy, but it was clean and among the one or two lowest priced hotels, which matters with hotel prices these days. There’s a freeway and busy road nearby, though it wasn’t too bad, and the rooms were somewhat soundproof.
