Quality Inn Danville - University Area

Gabby, I believe that was her name, was the one exceptional employee at the Danville Virginia location. She was sweet and pleasant, with a great smile. The other employees were very rude and acted bothered when asked to do anything. I felt embarrassed asking for coffee in the morning because the blonde employee seemed agitated and upset about making more. Our room was clean, but the top sheets had many stains. We stayed four nights and asked for clean towels, but they only gave us two for four people. Breakfast was gross, and during our stay there was no orange juice in the machine, just muffins and some cereal. I visit Danville a few times a year and won't stay there again.

Our room was finally cleaned on the last night, with the trash gone, dirty towels collected, and fresh sheets. I still had to go to the front desk for toilet paper, and the housekeeper left a black trash bag, which I was fine with. The friendly front desk women and Tasha, the manager, were wonderful, and I loved the room. But the lack of housekeeping means I don't think we'll book here for another NASCAR weekend. We checked in Thursday evening for the race and were staying five days. The woman who checked us in was the nicest person I've ever met: welcoming, made sure we got the best room for our money, checked it was ready, and gave us extra towels. The room was big and open, and the bed was very comfortable. But no one came to collect trash or used towels or make the bed. We came back from the race Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to find no housekeeping. I asked Saturday morning for the room to be serviced since we had trash, but nobody came. On Sunday I asked for toilet paper and told both a new front desk employee and a housekeeper that nobody had cleaned the room since Thursday. I was told housekeeping was daily, then told it was every three days. Why was ours the only room in the hallway being skipped when three other rooms were cleaned every day? I also asked for new sheets because of bonfire smoke, burning rubber, and exhaust from the track. By Monday, there still hadn't been any service, and I had to ask for toilet paper again. I wondered if we'd finally get housekeeping on our last night. After I raised the issue again, a very nice front desk employee told me the housekeeper had said she'd cleaned our room the day before, which wasn't true. She promised to make sure someone took care of it. It took until our final night to get the sheets changed and trash picked up. I was told they only have three maids, but that's not my problem. I paid for a comfortable room and caring service, and that's what I expect.

The staff were wonderful, and the food was really good. The bathroom could use some sprucing up, but otherwise it was a nice place. Thanks to everyone who helped me enjoy my stay.

The front desk woman was awesome, polite, and extremely helpful, and my room was clean and fine for what I expected from this chain. The location worked well too, though my stay didn't match the other reviews. This isn't a five-star hotel, and you get what you pay for. My one complaint is the outdated TV. If the budget allows, leadership should consider smart TVs with remotes so guests can stream Netflix or Disney and keep kids occupied.
