Red Roof Inn Danville, PA

The room was clean, well stocked, in excellent shape, and smelled nice. I had a very comfortable king bed and a good hot shower, and the employees were welcoming and kind. I've stayed here a few nights and had a great experience. Rooms are inexpensive, but don't let that put you off, they're generous. I'd recommend this place if you're in the Danville area.

The hotel is handy for a family visit to Knoebels Amusement Park, about a 20-minute drive away. Check-in was easy, and the front desk staff were polite and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the bed was decent for a short stay. The bathroom needed better attention, though. There was a used towel left behind, no fresh towels in the room, and the soap dispenser was empty. I had to go ask the front desk for clean towels. It's an okay choice for a quick stay near the park, but housekeeping could do better.

For one night and this price, it's okay, but I wouldn't stay two. I work in hospitality, so my standards are higher. There was dust where it shouldn't be, a hair in the sink, and dust and hairs around the bed in spots that were hard to see. I check for bugs wherever I sleep and didn't find any bedbugs, but the room still never felt clean. I felt itchy and had trouble falling asleep. I'm glad it was at least as clean as it was, but housekeeping should do better; this feels like poor management and laziness. I asked for fresh bedding and will be surprised if it was actually changed. If I'd paid more, I'd be furious.

My dad was admitted to the hospital in the evening, so I booked a room for my mom at the last minute during the busy Bloomsburg fair. The staff member was so friendly and helpful, especially when she needed to stay one more night because my dad had to remain in the hospital. He helped arrange another room and kept her on the ground floor. It's been a long time since I've had hotel staff this kind and helpful. The room was a little dated but clean, with no issues, and worked well for us.
