The only bright spot was the young man who checked me in. He was pleasant. Everything else was awful, and I paid over $300 for one night. I was in town because my husband was in the hospital. It was late, I’m an older woman traveling alone, and there were unsavory characters outside, so I didn’t feel safe wandering around. I went straight to the room. The smell of old urine hit me as soon as I opened the door. The floor was dirty, the walls had patch jobs, and the mattress smelled of urine too. I used the hand sanitizer and adult wipes I’d brought for my husband to clean a small area, but I couldn’t bring myself to eat there or have food delivered. I spent the night sitting upright in a chair, waiting for daylight so I could leave. On the way out, the front counter was closed, so I couldn’t complain or say I wouldn’t stay a second night. It felt like a place for people with nowhere else to go, or who were waiting to get into somewhere. Bad all around. Stay away.

I tried this chain to save money on a last-minute work trip. Even budget business hotels were $250-$350 a night, and choosing Extended Stay was a mistake. I arrived very early after a redeye and asked whether I could check in if the room was ready, so I could change and get to meetings. The woman at the desk said the system would charge me an extra $56. When I asked why I couldn’t use the room if it was available, she said, “I’m not finna get fired for that.” She seemed completely indifferent about whether I stayed, cancelled, or left a bad review. Then I got to the room. It was filthy and stank. I expected cheap, but not that. What a cesspool of a “hotel.” Avoid it. I’ll never stay again.

Romeo helped me get settled into a room, and he was informative, polite, and respectful. I’ve just moved here from out of state for a job transfer, so meeting someone kind and helpful felt refreshing. The room is clean, clean, and has what you need. The location is prime, with shopping, gyms, restaurants, and gas stations all within a mile. I went to the gym down the road right after checking in, and it felt good to come home afterward. The place is tucked away from the noise, though it’s close to a huge shopping plaza, and the grounds are clean. I was traveling alone for weeks at a time and felt really safe here. There’s even a key lock for the laundry and vending area. The employees made me feel at home, from Valda at the desk to the housekeeper whose smile brightened my morning. I enjoyed my stay.
