We had to change rooms twice, first because the door lock didn’t work, then because the next room wasn’t clean. The inside looked clean otherwise, including the bed and blankets, but I saw a bug in the corridor. During my one-night stay, I didn’t feel respected, and I wouldn’t recommend the place. Reception seemed to have no sense of social behavior and spoke loudly on the phone in his own language. I don’t understand how this place is rated above 3.

The hotel is very clean, neat, and modern, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room’s AC wasn’t working, but the staff went out of their way to buy us an oscillating fan. The free beer and wine at happy hour for guests of legal drinking age was a plus, and my children especially enjoyed the pool. The surrounding businesses and area are run down and dated, though the hotel itself is very nice. I’ll book here again if I’m in the area.

Our first room smelled of mold and was awful. We told management right away that we couldn’t stay there and needed a refund, and they moved us to a different, slightly less terrible room. It was so late that we stayed the night. The comforters had large bleach stains in several places, there was something growing in the bathroom light fixture, and something gross was smeared on the wall by the sink. The whole hotel reeked. Outside, the picture shows the guest back entrance right by the stairwell. Breakfast was a few grab-and-go items or oatmeal packets, plus a dirty make-your-own waffle maker. We went to IHOP instead and didn’t come back. I spent hours chatting and talking with Hotels.com about a refund for the remaining days we’d booked, but they refused at first. We did end up getting a full refund from Hotels.com, and their staff were great.

The first room had a damp, musty smell that the AC didn’t clear, and I stepped in a big slimy wet patch on the carpet while unpacking. We could hear people at the pool outside Room 125, so we called the desk. The woman there was kind and moved us to Room 101 within about ten minutes. That room was better, and the AC eventually helped with the same musty odor, but it was close to the lobby and noisy enough to disturb our sleep. The toilet smelled awful as soon as we lifted the lid, like there might be a septic issue, and the whole bathroom reeked. Anyone with asthma or breathing trouble could find the humid, musty rooms uncomfortable. Breakfast was a letdown: stale muffins and toast, cereal, Yoplait Yogurt, bagels, oatmeal, waffles, coffee, juices, and whole milk. The area was messy even though it was a slow morning. Check-in itself was easy, though the front restroom had no soap or paper towels. My husband and I only needed one night at a reasonable rate, and we expected some issues after reading reviews. It was manageable for a quick visit, but the hotel needs several improvements. Two stars is as high as I can go.
