The owner welcomed us and shared some neighborhood tips, and the staff member who checked us in showed us around and helped us pick out a bottle of wine. The shared lounge and breakfast area were inviting, and the original carvings and trim gave the place a warm feel. We stayed in The Oporto, a private second-floor space with a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette area. There was plenty of room, and it felt like having a little home of our own. It’s a converted late 19th-century house, and it was quiet during our winter visit. We were in Dayton to see a friend play at a nearby bar, and this was a great spot for visiting the Oregon District. We’d happily stay again.

The cheese and olives were delicious, and the place had a friendly, quaint feel. Our visit was too short to explore everything Dayton has to offer, but we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

There are coffee, fruit, snacks, and OJ in the first-floor common area. I had a coffee pot in my room, but I liked going downstairs and lingering over a cup. I felt safe and welcome, and Leslie was a thoughtful host who seemed to care about my comfort. I stayed in the Port/Oporto room for five nights over Thanksgiving 2023. It was spacious and comfortable, though a bit chilly for someone from Florida. Keeping the bedroom door shut helped. The inn is in the heart of Dayton’s historic Oregon District, with interesting shops, coffee places, and restaurants an easy walk away. A lovely visit, and I’d recommend it and come back.

We were in town for a convention, and the location worked really well. The convention center and a range of restaurants, bars, and eclectic shops were all within walking distance. Our room was cozy and clean, and breakfast had a nice choice of continental items.

We biked up from Xenia and ended up staying the night. Since we were calling at the last minute, I wasn’t expecting to find anything, but the owners were sweet and accommodating and had a room available with a lovely king bed and jacuzzi tub. The room was spacious, with cute antique furniture, and the jacuzzi felt just right after a long day on the bikes. There were lots of breakfast options and a comfortable shared area too. I’d love to stay here again next time I’m in Dayton.
