Sleep Inn & Suites Dayton South

The rooms, regular staff, and service were great, but the fire alarms kept going off during the week. Management was unwilling to offer compensation for that disruption or negotiate over other negative effects on the stay.

I was here for a two-week business trip, and the location was ideal. You can walk to the coffee shop, steakhouse, Waffle House, and gym, and get to pretty much anywhere in Dayton. The women at the front desk were friendly and easy to talk to. Breakfast was the usual eggs, biscuits and gravy, and sausage. There’s also an indoor pool and a small but effective gym. The air conditioner wasn’t great, so the room felt cool but damp. I had bed bugs. I asked the front desk for an extra cleaning, but they left the same bed coverings, didn’t vacuum, and said there were no spare rooms to move me to. I also asked for a vacuum and never got one. There were still crumbs, from something I couldn’t identify, and a dead roach I left there to check whether the room got cleaned 😂.

Garnetta was working the front desk that night and went out of her way to make our stay good. She kept busy cleaning and made a point of chatting pleasantly with guests. The hotel was clean and nice to stay at, especially since the Holiday Inn in town had closed and changed to the Comfort Inn. We’ll come back.

We stayed June 12-14 2025, and both check-in and checkout were easy. The employees were nice and answered our questions, and the rooms were very clean. The indoor pool was a nice feature, as was the little workout room with weights, exercise bikes, and a treadmill. Breakfast was free and decent, though not the best we’ve had, about 3/5. If you need somewhere nice and fairly inexpensive in the area, this works.
