Courtyard by Marriott Daytona Beach Speedway/Airport

The evening staff were nice and quickly brought an extra pillow and blanket to our room. In the morning, though, the staff were on their phones and didn’t greet you unless you said good morning first. We chose this place because we called ahead to check for a hot tub. No one mentioned it was out of service, and it looked like it had been that way for a while with no plans to fix it soon. After working 10-hour days, we’d hoped to relax in it, so that was a big letdown. The room was clean enough but dated, and once the housekeeping air freshener wore off, there was a moldy smell. I used a lot of points for this stay and wasn’t impressed. There are nicer places nearby at similar prices, so I wouldn’t recommend this one.

The location worked well, easy to reach from several spots, even though it’s not right on International Speedway Blvd. Check-in was friendly, easy, and helpful, and I liked the dinner options for staying in and working from my room. There’s also a full bar with beer and wine. A few things could use some attention, but I’d be glad to return.

The front desk staff were friendly, but I’ll try to avoid this older hotel next time. The bathroom was dirty, with hair in the shower, and the carpet by the sink felt sticky. The lighting and mirror setup in the bathroom were terrible. The room smelled musty and smoky, and the blanket had a blood stain between the sheet and comforter. I wish they washed or changed them between guests. There were only three flat pillows per bed and three towels for four of us, a parent and kids.

The hotel and housekeeping staff were very friendly and genuinely tried to help, which I appreciated. The room situation was still disappointing. Our first room had visible black mold on the walls. I didn’t see mold in the second room, but it still smelled musty. The carpet was in awful shape, sticky and damp, and I wouldn’t walk on it barefoot. I know Florida is humid, but I expect better from a Marriott. I stay at Marriott hotels around the country often, and this was the most poorly maintained one I’ve come across.
