From October through December 2025, I stayed at the Extended Stay in Dearborn and felt genuinely looked after. My room stayed clean, and it was quiet and peaceful there. General Manager Areff (forgive me if I misspelled her name), Paton ESPECIALLY, Savannah, Ben, Crystal, and the housekeepers all went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. From what I saw, they treated the other guests just as well. The manager keeps things professional and focused on business and good service, and someone was always ready to help when I needed it. They treated me like family, so leaving was hard. I’d gladly come back, and I recommend this hotel if you’re in Dearborn near Detroit.

For a little over $100, I got a spacious room with a king bed, a full kitchen, and a huge refrigerator and microwave. The location worked well for me: there’s a giant mall nearby, and with a car it’s easy to reach downtown Detroit and the highway. It was just me, a simple guy, and I had a really nice stay. The staff were super friendly, and it was close to where I needed to go. Could it have been better? Maybe, but for what they charge, it exceeded my expectations.

We ended up sleeping in our car in the hotel parking lot because everything nearby was booked for marathon weekend. We’d reserved this place months ahead to save money, and that night made me feel that saving a few dollars wasn’t worth giving up cleanliness and peace of mind. We checked out only a few hours after arriving. The room smelled like old food and body odor, and then my husband spotted a baby roach on the carpet. I tried to photograph it, but it vanished into the carpet. I’ve worked as a health inspector for seven years, and in my experience, seeing one roach can mean there are others nearby. That was enough for us to pack up. I was too disgusted to stay and take more pictures, though I’d wanted to document the room’s condition. Our luggage had been left open, and I’m still checking everything at home to make sure nothing came back with us. The front desk staff apologized at checkout and said the manager would contact us because they “take these matters seriously.” Several days have passed and nobody has followed up. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had, even after traveling all over the world. I’d avoid this property. It felt poorly maintained and unclean, and management’s lack of follow-up left me feeling that guest concerns weren’t taken seriously.

The website photos didn’t match what I saw, so I left right away and had to find somewhere else to stay. The room was dusty and dirty, with windows I could barely see through and surfaces that looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. The kitchenette seemed decades old, there was someone else’s food left in the refrigerator, and the bed looked too unclean to sleep in. There was just one luggage cart for the whole hotel and no ice machine anywhere on the property. A huge disappointment. I’d give it zero stars if I could.

What stands out to me most is how well this Dearborn Michigan Extended Stay has been updated. They put brand new beds and mattresses in all the suites, and the mattresses have protective covers. They’re sooooo firm and comfortable, just how I like them. I’ve never slept so peacefully. The enormous new smart TV is another upgrade I love, and the fresh paint keeps the place looking modern. Maintenance is quick to fix things, trash gets emptied often, and the elevators and lobby are cleaned regularly. The hotel feels clean, quiet, and tranquil, and I’m very happy with the rates. It feels like a palace to me, and I feel like a queen staying here. I’ve recommended it to someone thinking of relocating to the area. On my business trips I’ve stayed in many Extended Stay America Hotel suites, and this Dearborn Michigan location is my favorite by far. The staff are professional, pleasant, hardworking, and accommodating. They go above and beyond to make guests feel special, almost like royalty. Whenever I came to the lobby for hygiene supplies or fresh laundry, someone was there. If they were busy, they acknowledged me and let me know they’d be right with me, and I never waited long. I still remember arriving for the first time and having a friendly lady from guest relations management help bring my luggage into the lobby. It made a great first impression. The grab and go breakfast is always out and fully stocked, and every housekeeper I’ve met has been warm and smiling. They regularly ask if guests need anything, which I appreciate.
