For the price, my stay was pleasant overall. I was there a few weeks, and it was one of the lowest priced hotels around. It felt quaint and cozy when I arrived. I liked sitting in the little window nook, there was enough closet and storage space, and the shower stayed hot for a long time, which suited me and my family since we like long showers. The bed had that sinking memory foam feel, I guess, but I slept well. Staff were mostly friendly, respectful, and accommodating. The daytime front desk woman and the two men on evening and overnight shifts were all very nice. There were times I couldn’t understand what some staff were saying. One staff member was pleasant to me at first, then started agitating us while we were gathering our things to check out. It was uncalled for. Housekeeping was also stingy with towels and hand rags. When I asked for one more, they acted like it was a problem and had to consult a supervisor. I’m not used to that being an issue, though when I asked at the front desk another time it was much easier. I also saw antennae and a leg from what looked like a huge dead roach on the shower vent. It put me off, but it was dead and I didn’t see any live pests during my stay. Breakfast was a pack of two muffins, a bagel with cream cheese, Sunny Delight, and yogurt. They call it on-the-go breakfast. I’m diabetic and didn’t like it at all. I could have checked the reviews and website first, so that part’s on me.

The main downside was the shower pressure. It was pitiful if you wanted hot water, barely more than a sprinkle. There was also a smell like the devil’s lettuce as soon as you walked in. I don’t mind it myself, but others might. The front desk guy could have had a bit more personality. On the plus side, the room was a nice size with decent amenities, clean, and had a perfume smell from the previous guest that I didn’t mind. The location was great, with a free airport shuttle and affordable parking at $7/day if you’re flying in or out.

The lobby smelled strongly of weed when I arrived, and it wasn’t even cheaper than other budget airport hotels. The person at the desk was handling both the shuttle and front desk, which didn’t seem efficient. I got notifications saying I could check in or out online and submit my ID there, but that didn’t work as advertised. The hotel doesn’t interface with Wyndham’s system, so despite entering my credit card and ID online, I faced a long, inefficient late night check-in. They photocopied my passport, which I wasn’t comfortable with. The desk clerk waved off my expectation that I could breeze in and pick up keys, as the hotel brand had suggested. All of my Amex cards were declined, and the clerk acted like that was my problem, but the hotel’s system doesn’t take Amex.

The whole place REEKS of cigarettes, even though it’s a non smoking hotel. The halls and room smell like a smoker’s house. We had two pillows for two people, and when I asked for two more, they said they had none. One outlet in the room didn’t work, and our door had a 1.5 inch gap by the wall, so we could hear everything in the hall and someone could easily peek inside. It wasn’t even much cheaper than nearby hotels, so I can’t call it not awful for the price. Save yourself and spend the extra $20 at another hotel close by.

I come here every year for appointments at John Hopkins, and the staff are great. Room 116 would be my choice every time if I could request it. This time I stayed in room 104. It was a bit of a walk, but we managed. See you all next February 2027.
