Holiday Inn & Suites Decatur-Forsyth by IHG

Sara and Emilio made sure I had a great stay, and the way they treated me was fantastic. They went beyond what I expected. Holiday Inn and its staff gave me such good service that I’ll choose this location whenever I’m back in town.

Heavy snow forced us off the road while we were heading to Minnesota. Some employees couldn’t get in for quite a while, but Kristy got us settled into a room with a smile. She was absolutely incredible. Thanks, Holiday Inn, for taking such good care of us in Decatur.

The staff were very friendly, but I can’t get past the cleanliness problems and the possible bed bug. With two exhausted kids, moving rooms and worrying about bugs was not a relaxing way to spend a night. I’d appreciate someone from IHG contacting me, since I’m still waiting to hear from the manager. I definitely won’t stay here again, and I’m reconsidering future trips with the brand. We ended up in two rooms during our one-night stay. The first was dirty, with crumbs on the floor and lots of them in the pullout couch. There was even a stain in the toilet. The room had no bedding for the couch, so after pulling out the dirty bed, I went to the lobby to get some. Once we made it up, we saw a bug crawling on the bed. It looked like a bed bug, though we’re not yet sure what it was. The next room seemed much cleaner. When I asked for another blanket for my daughter, they said they didn’t have any. The pool heater was also broken, so it was freezing and the kids couldn’t enjoy the pool. We tried the on-site Burger Theory, but there was just one waitress who also seemed to be cooking. We sat for a while without her coming out of the kitchen, so we left and drove elsewhere to eat instead of using the convenient feature that had helped persuade us to book.

I only stayed a day and didn’t do too much here. The hotel was okay, and that odd location tucked out back seems to make it quiet.
