Mellow Moon Lodge

We’ll definitely come back. Mellow Moon Lodge has the kind of character and relaxed hospitality that makes a road trip feel worthwhile. The staff were warm and welcoming without hovering, and it felt like we were guests instead of just a reservation. It’s also a great base for fishing or hiking in the San Juans, or simply enjoying Del Norte’s quieter pace. The rooms were cozy, clean, and comfortable, with beds we slept well in. Everything worked as it should, and the place feels carefully looked after by people who take pride in it. It’s unpretentious, charming, and a great value. A clean, comfortable little roadside motel with some real Colorado personality. Five stars, easy.

The attached coffee shop was a real highlight. The coffee is incredible, and the baked goods are the best around. Our dogs enjoyed the visit too, and the other amenities helped make the stay feel complete. The hotel is just a comfortable, pleasant place to be, and our room was clean and very comfortable. We’ll stay here again.

Mellow Moon had a peaceful, welcoming feel from the minute I arrived. The cozy, thoughtfully designed atmosphere made it feel more like a retreat than a hotel, and this was easily one of my best hotel stays in Colorado. I’m looking forward to coming back. If you want a relaxing, memorable place in southern Colorado, this is a great pick.

Lauren is a fantastic hostess. Just ask if you need anything, and she’ll help. The Mellow Moon is a local business that makes you feel good about choosing to stay in Del Norte. The spacious rooms are comfortable, and the full-service coffee shop has a really personable staff. There’s a grocery store and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. They also have an honor-based pantry with some great food, including freeze-dried meals that look amazing and smaller snacks that are delicious, exotic, and all natural.
