The Park Motel

Amanda was the best part of the stay. She tried to help, though she couldn't work miracles. We thought the motel had been remodeled, but apparently we weren't given one of the newer rooms. Ours was very bare, with no chairs, no place to hang clothes, no hair dryer, and no glasses. We brought in a lawn chair and used the shower rod for clothes. The beds were okay, though I stubbed my toe on the iron frame a couple of times. Breakfast was advertised, but there wasn't even a coffee pot. If you stay, try to get one of the updated rooms.

The heating unit quit making heat and only blew cold air, so the room was freezing. Staff didn't seem concerned and offered no other room, refund, or discount. The property was old and dated, with wall stains, peeling paint, poor windows, and a smell in the room. The bedding was fine, but the beds were very old and the box springs were yellow. I also couldn't connect to WiFi or turn down the TV volume. The website advertised free breakfast and hair dryers on request, but staff never offered breakfast and had no hair dryers. I definitely don't recommend it.

I stayed in an upstairs room above the office. It had a different feel from the usual chain hotels, which I thought was cool.

The room was cozy and fairly clean, and this little motel has a nice nostalgic feel. But I wouldn't recommend it unless you're a man with nothing to lose. The door frame was broken, so it was hard to latch the door securely. My wife left a very expensive three-piece wedge pillow behind. When she called to ask if it was still there, she was told housekeeping had probably thrown it away.
