Texas Inn & Suites-Denton

I’m a Denton native and reviewer, so it saddens me to leave a negative review. The rooms are outdated, though well maintained. The booking promised continental breakfast, but there was none, and the Wi-Fi was slow or nonexistent. It’s quiet during the day, but at night several people come and go who don’t look like guests. Music blared from the room next to mine, and when I told the front desk, I was ignored. Management was unprofessional and unkind, and several nasty looks made me feel unwelcome.

We couldn’t get a refund or reach bookings.com customer service after deciding we needed to leave for a decent night’s sleep. The people at the hotel wouldn’t help either. The only upside is the easy access from the highway. Our room was filthy, hot, and uncomfortable. The AC never cooled it down, and the shower water was only lukewarm. The king bed had tiny throw pillow sized pillows. When I asked for more, the man at the desk gave me an attitude and said we’d have to wait for housekeeping. We never got any. The advertised continental breakfast wasn’t there, and the pool was drained. The TV kept cutting in and out, as did the phones. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

The helpful room service staff made this a great stop for the night. I spotted this cozy hotel and decided to give it a try. Definitely glad I did, and I’m looking forward to staying here again on my way back through.

I rarely leave reviews, but this one night stay made me feel I had to speak up. I told the woman at the front desk that I had a service animal, but it wasn’t noted on my sheet, and I was charged extra. When I called with my documentation, the man argued, was rude, and wouldn’t accept it. He acted as if I must be lying because the animal would have been recorded if I’d mentioned it. Then he hung up and refused to refund me. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone who expects decent customer service.
