MainStay Suites Near Denver Downtown

It’s right beside the Seventh Circle music venue. On Thursday night I could hear the vocals, all screaming, as if I had a front-row seat. Earplugs and a pillow over my head didn’t block it. They offered to move me from the room closest to the venue, then said it wouldn’t make a difference. It was midnight. I’m really looking forward to work tomorrow.

We picked this hotel for a show at the Oriental Theater, an easy 15-minute drive up Federal Blvd and down 44th. Free parking and being close to downtown Denver made it a good alternative to pricier downtown hotels with $50-plus parking. Lindsey and Celeste greeted us, and check-in was effortless. Lindsey also surprised us with an upgrade, which we really appreciated. The room was clean, spacious, and seemed recently renovated. For what we paid, it was a remarkable value compared with other places we’d stayed that weren’t nearly as well kept. The pool area was roomy and clean too. The water was a little cooler than ideal, but the kids and we enjoyed a morning swim. A hot tub would’ve been nice, but the pool was the main thing for us since we only book hotels with pools. Breakfast was complimentary and better than others we’ve had lately. We’d love to come back.

Liz is always sweet and respectful, and I’ve never had a problem with her. She makes my kids and me feel welcome. We love her, and her service makes you want to come back.

After checking out, we learned we hadn’t received Choice reward points because the clerk had entered our Mainstay room as costing $0 when moving us from Comfort Inn. We’d still been charged the original rate, which was over $100, and got neither a refund nor a free room. We won’t stay here again. The room situation was a mess too. Our first key didn’t work, and the employee said some keys were having problems. She offered either to let us in and out for the rest of our stay or move us. We chose another room, where the key worked, but it hadn’t been cleaned or made up. The desk said nobody was available to clean it, and offered a refund or a Mainstay room at the same property. We chose that. Its key worked, but the room was in poor shape, with damaged flooring, burn marks on the sheer curtains, and peeling bathroom paint. It was getting late, so we stayed.
