Motel 6 Denver, CO – Downtown

The cleaning staff were wonderful, and the maids did a great job keeping the place clean. Still, I can't recommend staying here. The staff are rude, whatever other reviews may say. A short white guy was especially disrespectful and had an attitude. I was staying over when they went into my room, took my things, and acted like it wasn't their problem.

I had to leave in an ambulance because of heart problems after barely getting into my room for a one-night stay. The room was almost untouched, but my glasses and hat were missing. When I came back the next day to ask about them, I got nothing but cockiness. I wouldn't be so upset if they weren't my prescription glasses. I called customer service, and still got no help.

Lilyth deserves five stars for being so helpful, personable, and great with customer service. Check-in was a breeze. The area around the hotel still feels sketchy, though it's improved since a few years ago. I'd call this a decent two-star hotel.

I made sure to leave the room extremely clean, but Diamond, the manager, was still rude and handled checkout terribly. At 11am I returned the key to the front desk receptionist and said we were waiting for our Uber. She said we could wait 15 minutes. About four minutes after we got back to the room, Diamond came pounding on the door. I explained what the receptionist had told us, and Diamond said I had two minutes to get my bags and dog, with the door left open. I wouldn't leave it open with my dog inside in case she got out. I closed it, and Diamond kept pounding, saying she'd break the door down. I calmly told her I was grabbing the toiletries I'd nearly forgotten and would be leaving. As I went out, I asked her name. She stared at her phone and ignored me even when I asked again. I told her the way she'd acted was completely out of line for a manager, especially since I'd left the room so clean. She shoved past me into the room as I was leaving, and I had to tell her not to touch me or there'd be serious problems. I've never been treated this way at a Motel 6. I'll be contacting corporate and want a refund, or at least part of one. This isn't how you handle guests, and I'm very disappointed.
