Staybridge Suites Denver Downtown by IHG

The room seemed a little small, but it had everything we needed. The shampoo, body wash, and lotion were very good brands. The front desk staff were so helpful, and I'd recommend staying here anytime.

The entrance was hard to find and packed with people, which made arriving frustrating. The rooms had plenty of space, but felt old throughout. Our TV was about 40 ft from the bed, with the couch right beneath it, and there was nothing to watch except infomercials since it had no casting. You'd need binoculars to see the screen. Parking on site was scarce and cost an exorbitant amount, nearly like paying for a motel room for the car. There are cheaper lots nearby, but keeping a vehicle parked still adds up. We also had to come up with another $300 at check-in for a hefty security deposit. Nobody had told us about it when we made the reservation, and we were staying about 4 days. For what this place costs, the experience was below par. We expected more from a pricier hotel and left very disappointed.

Daniela helped make our arrival easier by giving us complimentary early check-in after our early flight into Denver. Cameron also made a big difference. I’d booked through Super.com for early October 2025, but had a schedule conflict and needed new dates. Even though the booking was nonrefundable, Cameron worked with his manager and moved us to late October at no cost. Without his flexibility, we wouldn’t have been able to complete the stay. Both Cameron and Daniela made us feel comfortable, and I’m grateful for their help. I’d happily stay here again.

After traveling all day from out of state, we spent a while circling one-way streets trying to locate the parking and the entrance. The lobby has no sign and sits in an alley. There are only about five spaces on site for $32 a night, or a public lot across the street for $27. The area between the county courthouse and probation offices felt sketchy, and we only walked to the Denver Museum of Art during the day, not around the neighborhood at night. This was our fourth trip to Denver, and this hotel didn’t reflect what downtown has been like for us before. Our room was worn, dirty, and stained. There was an open HVAC access panel beside the bed, large enough for an adult to get through from the inner walls, and it didn’t lock. The walls, furniture, carpet, and tub had odd stains, damage, and a funky smell. We also heard another guest tell the desk that the mattress on their pullout couch was moldy, and their asthmatic child was meant to sleep there. Along with other reviews mentioning bedbugs, that had me worried we’d all catch something. Breakfast was old or reheated food, including hard stale bagels, mushy berries, and sausage links and omelettes that seemed to have been reheated for days. The breakfast staff weren’t very friendly. The building is rundown and dirty, though the front desk has some nice ladies. I didn’t complain. We’d booked a Priceline package for my child’s birthday, and I didn’t want to add stress for the family. I also assumed another room couldn’t be any better. It feels like corporate management has forgotten this property, with that neglect reaching hotel management and staff. Travelers should avoid it, and management needs to invest in rehabbing the place.
