Cozy Rest Motel

DON’T STAY HERE. Go anywhere else!!!!! After a long, exhausting day on the road, I just wanted to get to my room. I’m guessing this place counts on tired travelers. The room was tiny, and there wasn’t even a garbage can. At the desk, there was a small corner closed off with thick plastic, with a loud wall AC unit running behind it. I could barely hear the woman at the desk. I’d prepaid through Booking.com and kept explaining that, but she said they hadn’t received the payment. She wouldn’t give me a key unless I paid again. This motel isn’t worth paying twice for. If you book through a third party, you could be charged double.

We needed an affordable place for a trip to the State Fair, so my boyfriend and I booked online. The rooms they showed after updates looked nice. At check-in, the girl at the front desk was friendly and there was no hassle. Our room was cute, clean, and just what we needed. Don’t judge a book by its cover, this turned out to be our diamond in the rough. We’ll stay here again next year for sure!

Avoid staying here when there’s snow. They don’t plow the parking lot or shovel the sidewalks, and they don’t seem to care if your car gets stuck after a storm.

A comfortable place to stop while you’re out doing things in the city. The room was clean and well cared for, and it was easy to get from the car to the room. Staff were welcoming and checked whether we needed extra linens or soap. A nice spot if you just need somewhere to rest between activities.
