Quality Inn Des Moines North

The owners were outside when I arrived, and they helped me find a place to park my huge fifth-wheel camper, even though the lot wasn’t really set up for big RVs. I was backing up, and they guided me where I needed to go, taking up multiple spots. Then we sat and chatted for a while. I’m a professional driver, and after years on the road, I’ve never met a team so friendly. I’d recommend this hotel and think it’s probably the best bet in the area at this price. The room was as good as, or better than, the bathroom. I didn’t take pictures before settling in because I was tired, but I’ll upload a bathroom video. No mold anywhere, which impressed me. It had blue walls. I saw a recent review calling the pool dirty, so I’ll attach a video. It looked clean to me, and I’d swim in it. For fun, I’ll also post a video of my truck and RV to show where they helped me park. My tire went bad Saturday night (5/30/26) while I was pulling the camper. Nearly all the tire shops were closed Sunday, so I was stuck until at least Monday. I’d seen the hotel’s good reviews and navigated there. The TV had real high-definition picture, an HDMI input, and an actual on-screen guide. I was impressed with the place, and think you will be too. I’m a local guide with lots of reviews, so check my profile. I review places for two reasons: to remember whether I liked them, since I drive so much, and to give you all an honest account.

For a cheap price, we got a great room and really delicious breakfast. The staff are amazing and have helped accommodate every need we have.

The only downside was getting into the hotel: street upgrades have cut off the entrance in an awkward way. The building is dated, but well maintained, and I didn't find anything to complain about. The hot breakfast was very good, with eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, and cold cereal. Fruit was the one thing I think they could add.

We travel a lot for work, and this is one of the top places to stay around Des Moines. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We bring trucks, trailers, and equipment, and it's nice to find a place with good parking for them.
