GLō Best Western Dallas South DeSoto

The front desk gentleman was patient and kind when I couldn't find my ID and we needed to change the reservation name to my husband. He helped us through a tricky situation. The hotel looked clean, the bed seemed comfortable, and we hadn't tried the hot tub yet. Some furniture already shows wear, though it seems cheaply made. Also, if strong scents bother you, be prepared: the lobby fragrance was so overwhelming at check-in that I had to step outside because I felt faint. I don't know what they use to clean or scent the place. If you're coming from the country, request a room away from the highway, since the traffic noise is incredibly loud.

The beds were comfortable and the hotel is in a good location. Getting in from the back parking lot wasn't convenient during my stay because the back entrance was closed, so I had to carry everything around to the front. The restroom toilet paper is painfully thin and falls apart when you use it. There's also a very strong Fabuloso smell as soon as you walk inside. It's good to know the place is clean, but that scent is too much.

Breakfast was decent for the price, and the shower had good water pressure. The hotel seemed clean and was generally fine, though some guests smoked marijuana and left the hallways smelling bad. Their habits can bring the experience down, and it makes me wonder whether things will stay this way or improve. Avoid a room on the freeway side. The walls and windows are thin, so road noise goes on constantly.

Jennifer made me feel welcome and helped me feel less homesick while I was away. I was glad I chose this place for my one-day trip to Dallas. It's great value for the money, and I'll stay here again when I'm back in town.
