AmericInn by Wyndham Detroit Lakes

The breakfast was simple, but fresh, kept well stocked, and served at the right temperatures. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the room itself was clean and comfortable, though the pillows were a bit hard. A few things need maintenance: the toilet paper holder kept coming loose, the sink drained very slowly, and the light dimmer was just a stem sticking out of the wall. The property was otherwise tidy and well maintained, with places to eat nearby and easy driving access to more. Being right by the highway and a major rail line does make it a little noisy. Amenities were provided, and we’d stay again.

The kids had a great time in the pool and hot tub, and the breakfast was nice too. The owner had done a lovely job decorating for Halloween. Staff were friendly and helpful. They also sell frozen pizzas and have an oven there if you’d rather not go out for food. We’d stay again.

We spent two nights here in mid-September and would happily come back. The breakfast selection and availability were more than satisfactory, and we found the place very clean with friendly, helpful staff. We’re already recommending it to friends who plan to visit the area soon. Some reviewers, I think, are just professional complainers.

The pool area has a hot tub, billiards table, and a few arcade games, and there’s plenty of grassy space for pets. It’s a very family and pet friendly place, yet the property was especially clean even with pets allowed. The room was on the small side but comfortable, clean, and well appointed. Breakfast was free and quite nice, especially the Belgium waffles, which my family loved. The location is convenient, close to town, and there’s lots of free parking. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We’ll definitely return.
