Lake George Diamond Cove

The cottages are well kept, and each one has its own parking spot, so parking was easy. We found our two-bedroom cottage small but comfortable for four; there was enough room without bumping into each other. The decor was dated, and the shower was tighter than expected, so you need to be nimble. Think camping with running water. The cottage sits close to the water, and the lakefront is small but charming. You can swim, though there’s no lifeguard. Cabin #1 is the one to request for a beachside lake view. The property is next to the lake, which guests can use, and it’s pleasant to see that some guests return for long stays year after year. We arrived after check-in, but a call ahead to say we were late was no problem, and John welcomed us warmly. It was a good place to stay in the Lake George area, and I’d come back.

The cabin was brand new, and the grounds, picnic area, and lakefront were all very nice and clean. I left my boat docked overnight for $65. The facility has a boat ramp and a rubber-padded slip, which boat owners will understand. It’s a solid place, and the guy running it was nice. A little pricey, though everything around here is.

The grounds are immaculate, with beautiful flowers all around. John and his family make sure you’re comfortable and offer helpful dining recommendations. I’d recommend Diamond Cove Cottages again and again. It’s the best place to stay!

We’d vacationed in Lake George for years but had never stayed here, so we weren’t sure what to expect. All week, John took a personal interest in making sure guests had what they needed and were enjoying themselves. It felt like he understood how families look forward to vacation all year and wanted to make it special. He made us feel like part of his family, and like he was part of ours. You don’t get that feel at many of the newer upscale resorts. If you’re after a simpler, old-fashioned kind of courtesy, this is the place. We had a great time!
