SpringHill Suites by Marriott Pittsburgh Bakery Square

We came for the Steelers game and only stayed a day, so I wish we’d had another one to walk around more. We ended up going straight to the game at Acrisure Stadium. The hotel is roughly a 12-minute drive from the stadium, in what seemed like a safe, good college area. There’s a spot with restaurants and shops right outside, and the hotel’s name is up on the building if you look above the signs. Parking was easy to figure out: drive around the corner to the attached garage and take a ticket. It was $16 for 24 hours, with the first three hours free. That seems fair, though I wish it had been included in the stay. Our room was very clean, as were the bathrooms. I was surprised it had two bathrooms, one with a shower, tub, and sink, and the other with a sink and toilet. The complimentary breakfast was okay, though it could use more choices. Panera Bread is just downstairs if you want something else, but it isn’t free. I’d absolutely stay here again. I don’t say that about many hotels.

Laurie made our stay. She greeted my mom and me when we first came in, then, knowing I had an interview the next day, extended our stay so we wouldn’t have to rush out right after it. When we checked out, she remembered to ask how it had gone. She was kind, upbeat, understanding, and felt completely genuine. I wanted to recognize her, because she reflects so well on the hotel. I’d happily stay here again because of her. It was my first time in Pittsburgh, and all the staff were very nice. The room layout worked perfectly for two.

We come to Pittsburgh often and are glad we’ve found a new favorite place to stay. We drove in from New York for our uncle’s 95th birthday and arrived late, but Mason and Tarina were attentive, personable, and very accommodating. We’re looking forward to the next visit.

The rooms are roomy and clean, but breakfast choices really aren’t good. They’re doing renovations.
