Sonesta Simply Suites Pittsburgh Airport

I stayed here a year ago and didn't run into these issues, so this visit was disappointing. The website shows a one-bedroom suite with a recliner in the living room, but mine was missing, leaving an empty space. It also shows two chairs at the kitchen table, but I had one, a wheeled work desk chair. There was just one remote for both TVs, and the kitchen and table outlets didn't work. I checked the fuse box, and neither had tripped. I had to make coffee and use the toaster in the bathroom. The lobby had run out of decaf, so I made the room coffee, which was horrible. At least the bed was comfortable. I bring my dog, and the website lists all kinds of dog amenities, but none were provided in my room. The hotel knows I'm traveling with a dog because it charges extra for pets. I know you get what you pay for, but guests should at least get what's shown online. I need an extended-stay hotel with a kitchen because I travel with my dog and come over Thanksgiving, when nothing is open for food. There is a similar extended-stay hotel right next door, and I think I'll try it next year.

Alex was wonderful to my service animal and me after we arrived exhausted from a long road trip. They really went above and beyond. The room was great and came with plates, cups, and even a dishwasher. Worth the price.

I stayed two nights after a bad experience at another motel down the road, and had a pleasant stay here. It was clean, smelled nice, and the bed was comfortable. The room had plenty of supplies and a nice kitchenette, with some cookware that may have been left by previous guests. There was no breakfast, but that wasn't a deal breaker. The free parking lot didn't raise any safety concerns, and the nearby area had a fair amount of shopping and entertainment. I didn't feel worried about the surroundings. Pets are welcome, which is nice, though you should be prepared for the possibility of accidents. The staff were friendly and accommodating, even though I didn't need anything in particular. The property also seemed to have a gym and laundry. I like kitchenettes, so I'd definitely come back if I visit Pittsburgh again.

The room was dated, and the tub tiles were rusty, including around the sink. It did have a full-size fridge, microwave, and small stove. The hallways smelled bad, and the carpets were old and stained. But the worst part was the evening front desk employee on August 14. 2025. She was rude and unprofessional from the start, never smiling or greeting my friend at check-in. When my friend asked for a second key, she rolled her eyes. My friend thanked her after checking in, but got no response. If she was having a bad day or night, she shouldn't have shown it in her demeanor. She looked like she had a black/blue eye. Later, my friend left her room keys behind when we headed out to dinner, so we returned to ask for another key and apologized. The employee seemed irritated, said, “I gave you an extra one earlier,” rolled her eyes again, and said she was clocking out for the day. She asked for the room number, which my friend didn't remember, so she gave her last name. The employee still asked for the room number, then finally looked up the room and handed over the key without looking at us. I wouldn't recommend this property.
