I’m glad I chose to check in here. The place is newly built and open, and the staff are friendly and work hard to keep it clean and welcoming. Shayna at the front desk was especially helpful and friendly. A great place to stay.

We were excited to stay at a new, clean hotel, but it was a huge disappointment. Our first room had no blackout shades, so the truck stop lights poured in, and none of the wall lights worked. The phone wasn’t plugged in, and I couldn’t find anywhere to plug it in, so I had to go to the desk. The front desk girl couldn’t get the card machine working. She walked me to another room with a hard key, opened the door, and it was OCCUPIED. That’s a serious safety issue. We went back to the desk, where she still couldn’t make a key, then she took us to a third room. It was hotter than Hatties. I turned on the AC, which made strange noises and blew hot air. Eventually it started blowing cooler air, so after driving 13 hours and feeling exhausted, I thought maybe it just needed time. The hallway was way cooler than the room. At 2 am I woke up sweating because the room still hadn’t cooled. I tried calling the front desk three times, but the calls wouldn’t go through. I went down in my pajamas, and she said they could move us at 2 am, while my family was asleep. After the door had already been opened on an occupied room, we should’ve left. That was a breach of safety and security. The bathroom door was hung crooked and blocked the main door unless it was latched shut.

All night, I could hear footsteps overhead. They never stopped, and that was the only thing I heard. Another hotel once had this problem because of bad construction. I’d never stay here again.

We come to town often to see family, and we’ve tried most of the hotels at the interstate exit. So far, the new Home2 Suites is excellent, with a very nice room, amenities, and property. We’ll probably stay there again. Edit: I should add that the breakfast options are dismal. There isn’t much beyond make-your-own waffles and crunchy French toast. Other hotels put out things like eggs, sausage, and bacon.
