Dover Bay Resort

Dover Bay is a lovely place to be, but there are several things future guests should know. The pool and hot tub close at 7pm, which feels early if you want an evening soak and to watch the sun set over the marina. The cleaning staff didn't check the kitchen items, and we kept pulling out one dirty thing after another while trying to cook. The grounds crew started mowing before 7:30 in the morning and woke us with rocks hitting the side of our bungalow as they mowed right around it. The noise was deafening. I contacted the front desk, and the manager said there was nothing they could do because the City of Dover manages the crew's start time. That seems odd to me. Guests paying $450+ a night during peak season shouldn't be woken by mowers at 7:30am. Dover Bay Resort made no effort to change this for guests, and that says a lot. I've recommended the place to people for years, but I definitely won't recommend it again.

It's a great place to walk the dogs, and the poop bag dispensers are easy to find. Just make sure you remember your address, because every house looks the same. There used to be lots of moose, but the vacation rental management companies run them off before summer, and in winter the moose fly south. There's a new post office across from the coffee stand, but it isn't open.

The bungalows sit right beside the water, and the place itself is beautiful. Ben and the restaurant crew do a great job, and everyone on staff is friendly. Hard to beat a spot like this!

We came back to Dover Bay Resorts for a second year, and it was just as good as our first visit. Summer Breeze cabin had everything we needed for an extended stay through Memorial Day. It was clean and well cared for, and we loved The Dish eatery too. We’ll definitely return and recommend it to others.
