We’d planned our first weekend away in 17 years, but this stay was disgusting. The online photos don’t show the hotel’s actual look or condition. We arrived late in the evening, brought our things in exhausted, checked the bed for bugs, glanced at the pretty LED mirror, turned on the TV, and fell asleep. In the morning my husband called me into the bathroom. There was old, dried urine on the wall behind the door and beside the toilet, poop smeared on the walls, and the shower, baseboards, and everything else were filthy. I woke up feeling sick and thought I might be getting a sinus infection. We packed, went out to explore town for a couple of hours, then collected our things and checked out early. They promised a full refund, but still haven’t answered the phone to confirm it with Expedia. I took photos and video. This place needs a health inspection ASAP, there are so many violations. We were in room 405. The door looked like it had been kicked in, and you literally had to push hard to open it. I’m so upset!

Dover Inn and Suites is trying to charge me a $75 no-show fee, even though I showed up and stayed my full time. I checked in on April 24th at 7 am, and they made me pay a $50 early fee. I have the hotel transaction receipt, so I’m not paying for a stay they’re claiming I missed. We even left early. The desk wasn’t open when I called about leaving the key, and the drop box was blocked by books. I had to push them aside to put the key in, then do my best to move them back so nobody would steal it.

The rooms didn’t look like the booking photos at all. I had two rooms: one had a coffee pot but no cups, and the other didn’t have a coffee pot. The room smelled strongly of chemicals, the shower soap dispensers were empty, and the refrigerator had so much ice built up it looked like it hadn’t been defrosted in years.

It was a horrible stay all around. The room smelled very bad, paint was peeling off the wall, and there were holes in the bathroom door. The bathtub looked like it hadn’t been cleaned properly, and I could see light through the gap around the door. The towels were nasty, one even had a footprint on it. We had to buy towels just to shower.

This was a terrible experience. The pictures don’t match the rooms, and I’d expected at least something decent based on them. The paint in the bathtub peeled into my bath water. There were no towels, the TV and microwave didn’t work, and the desk chair was broken. The health department really needs to inspect this place!
