Red Roof Inn & Suites Dover Downtown

The sheets were clean, surprisingly, and at least the air conditioner worked. But the place smelled bad everywhere. Outside was weed and garbage, the hallways smelled like urinal cakes and curry, and the room smelled like poop. The floors were cheap roll-on linoleum that stuck to my feet. The bed was hard and loud, with the springs popping constantly. I’d rather spend 120+ on a Holiday Inn.

The tub was damaged at the base and looked disgusting, and I’ll never stay here again. Hospitality was horrible. Don’t get excited about the included breakfast: bread, bagels, cinnamon rolls, mini blueberry muffins, apples, oranges, yogurt, instant oatmeal packets, coffee, apple juice, orange juice, and two cereals, Frosted Flakes and Cheerios. At 11:05, staff came to our door while we were packing to say checkout time had arrived. At 11:10, the front desk called my phone to tell us the same thing.

Having a separate sitting area in the room was great for me and my family. Check-in was easy, and the room was very clean.

I was furious that staff went into my room when everything was clean and in order, my bed was made, and I needed nothing. They took down the bed and moved my bathroom things and personal belongings. They mentioned smoking. I leave the windows open, and smokers were right outside my windows. There was snow outside and footprints up to my window. It felt like they were looking for something, and I thought going into my room was uncalled for.
