Chatting with Christy over her delicious breakfast was a lovely part of the stay, and we got to hear about the home's history. Frank, the owner, showed us around the beautiful estate, which has been in his family since the mid-1800s. We were overwhelmed by how lovely Rockwood Manor is. It would also make a scenic wedding setting.

The house was built in 1876, and its historic character really makes it feel like stepping into the past. The grounds are gorgeous, and the dining room was elegant. Frank and his wife made a delicious breakfast both mornings, and we had great conversations with the other guests. We had a wonderful weekend, and I'd have a hard time recommending a better place to stay if you're nearby.

Frank was a pleasure to talk to, with a sharp mind and loads of interesting information. We also enjoyed chatting with the sociable guests. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with soft cotton sheets, a ceiling fan, and a comfy bed. There's plenty of charm in the common rooms, and breakfast with good coffee was delicious every day. This beautiful 130-year-old southern manor sits on 68 acres. A fun, comfortable place to stay.

I stayed by myself on a Sunday as a stop on a longer drive, and the hosts still made me a full breakfast, even though I had the dining room to myself. The service was great. The mansion is beautiful, on a lovely farm not far from the interstate, and the antique furnishings and wooden floors make it easy to imagine the 1800s. There's lots of space for kids to play and adults to relax, so it would suit a family getaway or reunion. I'd consider it for a wedding, too.

Talking with the owner about the home's history kept us there for a few extra hours, and we still wished we had more time. We only stayed one night while passing through, but would gladly have stayed a week. The historic accommodations were comfortable, spotless, and had everything we needed. The home and grounds are fantastic, and breakfast in the dining room felt grand. We'll be back as soon as we can.
