Hampton Inn Columbus/Dublin

The room was clean, breakfast was hot and plentiful, and the staff we met were kind and polite. I was glad to see active renovations underway, since so many Hamptons are getting run down and corporate doesn’t seem to care. If road noise bothers you, ask for a room on the south side. I-270 gets pretty loud until after midnight on most nights.

For one night, it was a nice enough place and not a bad stay. We had two rooms, though, and the boys found old food in their fridge. There was also something stuck to the floor in our room, no idea what it was. Housekeeping could use a little attention.

We stayed seven nights, but the room was only cleaned on the second and third days. After that, it went four days in a row without service, even though I went to the front desk and was assured on two consecutive days that it would be cleaned. The desk staff handed us clean towels and toilet paper twice so we could shower, and we had to empty the trash ourselves. Breakfast also ran out of plates on two days. I won’t stay here again.

On 9/13, the hotel called me once, then wouldn’t answer when I called back. I later learned they had canceled my previously confirmed reservation because they were overbooked and had no room. I’ve stayed here before and found it fairly decent, but apparently being a HH member doesn’t help. Worse, Hilton’s system coded it as a “late cancelation.” I’m avoiding this Hampton Inn from now on. I don’t want to deal with that lack of courtesy and professionalism again.
