For a mobility-accessible room, the bed was too close to the bathroom, making it awkward to get around. I kept bumping into it while trying to maneuver. The room was clean, but badly needs updating. The mirror’s silver was chipping off, and the shower hose and grab bars had severe rust. The “hot breakfast” was waffles, and you had to eat them in the dining room.

The room looked clean and the AC worked well, but the musty, mildewy smell was bad. I asked to move and the front desk politely helped. The second room smelled the same, just not as strongly. Another guest came to look at my first room and said she worked for FEMA and thought the smell came from the carpet. She said they’d cleaned it but hadn’t aired the room out. I’m only here for one night and leaving early. There are no USB outlets for charging, so bring an AC adapter. It’s okay for a one-night layover.

Nothing was particularly special, but the stay was fine until checkout morning. After showering, I spotted a dark, obvious blood stain on the white towel I’d used.

I found a bed bug while checking the sheets and used my iron to kill it. I won't stay at a Super 8 again.
