We paid $130 a night, so we weren't expecting luxury, but I was too disgusted to try another room. The room clearly hadn't even been vacuumed, and there were lots of dead bugs and stains on the mattress covers. We checked out two hours after arriving for what was meant to be a two-night stay, but they're refusing a refund.

We booked through Expedia for $175 a night based on photos that looked at least 20 years old, and the property was surrounded by abandoned buildings. We went in, then immediately came back out and asked for a refund. The place felt unsafe, with roaches and bedbugs in the room, stained sheets, cigarette burns on the comforter, a door that wouldn't lock, and used needles in the grass. Pool water was black, signs had been torn down, and the building looked like it was falling apart. The front lobby was smoke filled, with someone checking guests in behind bulletproof glass. There were shady dealings in the parking lot. This property is unsafe and should be demolished.

We left and got a refund. The smell was nauseating, the floors hadn't been vacuumed, and the old, rundown building seemed to be falling apart under layers of paint. The door locked but wouldn't shut fully, leaving a draft in the winter weather in NC. The location made me worry my car would be broken into. We were told there was no breakfast bar, just one bag breakfast per person to take to the room. I asked whether shampoo and body wash were provided and was told there were dispensers in the bathroom, but there weren't any. The bed made me itchy right away, though I didn't see anything. No thank you!

We were driving from Georgia to New Jersey with two tired kids and needed somewhere to sleep after traffic and all the stops. The woman at the desk was really nice, chatted with us, and gave us extra towels. I checked carefully for bedbugs before letting the kids settle in, and the room was safe. It was a quiet, clean, two-bed non-smoking room with nice beds and white sheets and blankets. I didn't see any bugs or cigarette burns like some other reviews mentioned. There was a bit of rust by the toilet paper holder, but the building's old, so it didn't bother me. It worked well for a quick stop on the road. The problem was the area. When I went to the store for drinks and snacks, women were talking in front of my two little girls about it being okay to show some t***ies and a**, and the cashier agreed with them. It got a little worse than that, but I'm keeping it nice here. Totally inappropriate.
