Studio 6 Extended Stay Minneapolis Airport Eagan

The staff were usually friendly and tried to help when I raised problems, which is why I’m giving this two stars rather than one. I stayed nearly two weeks at Extended Stay America in Eagan, MN, and had enough issues that I can’t recommend it. The room seemed grimy when I arrived, so I wiped down a lot of surfaces myself. There was popcorn under the bed, which didn’t reassure me given other reviews mentioning bugs or roaches. The towels were in terrible shape too. All five or six I used shed flakes everywhere, like little bits of “confetti” on me and across the bathroom. There were people smoking within about 10 feet of the entrance several times. I saw plenty of cameras but never saw staff address it. Laundry was pricey, $4.25 for the cheapest wash and another $4.25 to dry. The fitness room listed online apparently doesn’t exist, as staff confirmed, which was a letdown on a longer stay. One day my key stopped working, and nobody was at the desk for around 15-20 minutes. My calls went unanswered, and the room phone that’s meant to reach the front desk didn’t work either. I didn’t personally have a safety problem, and the multiple locks gave me some peace of mind. Still, there was a sporadic THUD from somewhere below my room every single day during my 11-day stay.

De, the manager, made our stay feel easy and welcoming. He worked to get us the best price, kept his staff up to date about our stay and what we needed, and always made time to joke and help us feel at home. The rest of the staff were lovely too, all really friendly. My family and I are moving back to Eagan, but our place won’t be ready for another week. This location is close to everything we might need, and our room is clean with comfortable beds. Having a kitchen and full-size fridge is great, and it’s easy to ask for supplies. Guest laundry is handy, especially since it’s open 24 hours. 10/10, would recommend.

They overbooked my room and called at midnight to tell me. Then at 2 a.m. they charged me a no-show fee, even though the policy says I had until 4 a.m. Since they’d sold out and made my reservation unusable, I don’t see how a fee could apply. They charged me two hours before I could have been a no-show and two hours after I couldn’t have been one. I believe the charge was illegal. I’m calling the daytime manager in the morning, then the regional manager and corporate. On Monday, I’ll call the State Attorney General’s office. I hope they investigate and hold the hotel accountable. Charging me like this was a criminal act.

Erin is the one who makes the coffee, and she puts in so much effort to make people happy. She’s incredibly friendly, sweeter than cherry pie, and her smile brightens the whole hotel. She treats everyone like family. She’s a soldier, too, always going out of her way to help people who need it.
