Amanda made a real impression, friendly, informative, and clearly attentive to every detail. My wife and I came for one night away from our six kids, and she loved the history of the house. This was only our second bed and breakfast stay since moving to CT, and it was wonderful. Breakfast included a fruit and yogurt parfait with biscotti crumble made to accommodate my wife’s walnut allergy, plus bacon, Julia Childs potatoes, and amazing crepes. We’ll absolutely come back and recommend it to anyone visiting.

Even after just one night, The Bevin House felt like home. Soft beds, period-appropriate furniture, the faint smell of a wood fire, a huge antique library, and a farm-to-table breakfast made for a cozy winter break. Amanda is a fantastic host. Her work, passion, and care for small details show throughout the house. She greeted us with a smile and made it feel like *ours*. The owner, Dean, is a class act too. We’re already planning another stay.

The calm atmosphere made for a very Zen visit. The rooms were beautiful, and the house itself had a quaint feel. Amanda was amazing and looked after my Mom and me so well. The animals out front were precious, and the food was fresh and really good. I’d definitely recommend it for a relaxing stay. 🎉

Amanda is lovely to talk with and thinks of everything. She grows some of the produce, raises the chickens that lay the eggs, and bakes a different bread each day. Breakfast changes, but it’s beautifully served. We had yogurt parfaits topped with strawberry roses and individual shakshuka bowls. There are chickens, goats, and turkeys around the grounds, which are cute. Dean, the owner, turned this 1872 home into a period setting with modern conveniences. The common rooms have gentle music like Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban during the day, then calming soundscapes at night. It feels like stepping into a different reality. There are beautiful things everywhere without clutter, and the smells of cooking, baking, and a clean house are lovely without being overpowering. The library and sitting rooms invite you to settle in. This is a distinctive food and lodging experience, and we wanted something different from a hotel. Be prepared to share a bathroom, though every room has its own sink and mini fridge.

For our 19th anniversary, my wife and I picked a one-night B&B within driving distance. We compared around 15 places within two hours of central MA, and I’m glad we settled on Bevin. If you’re staying nearby, catch a show at The Goodspeed. We saw opening night of A Chorus Line, which made the trip memorable. Bevin has plenty of history and character. People around town told us it’s a fixture there, once owned by a bell manufacturer before it became an inn. The furnishings are authentic Victorian-era pieces, with few reproductions. The inn itself is lovely, but Amanda, the innkeeper, made the stay even better. She welcomed us, made sure we had what we needed, and cooked a delicious breakfast. We also met the owner Dean and their partner(?), who were both very nice and offered helpful tips. Our visit was brief, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. The pillows were comfortable, and we were well fed at this gem of an East Hampton, CT bed and breakfast.
