Peacock Place

I eventually found a room in Dublin, 30 miles away, but I never got to stay at Peacock Place. By then, the first two hotels I called in Dublin had no vacancies, and I had even briefly thought about driving back to Atlanta. I had no room, no help, and a business meeting the next morning. I’d booked through Reservations.com weeks ahead and received confirmation. On check-in day, a text said arrival was between 4pm-10pm, but gave no other directions. When I got there at 8:50pm, the place was locked, no staff were around, nobody answered the door, and I couldn’t see how to check in. I called the support number and waited about 20 minutes without reaching anyone, then tried the local number several times, left messages, and sent a text. No reply. I tried Sinha House too. Packages were left outside, the building was dark and locked, and nobody answered the doorbell. The follow-up was nearly as frustrating. The next morning I was told, “I do not live at the property,” and that it was “kinda late” when I tried to check in. Later, they said, “You booked through Expedia so I have no control.” They eventually said, “I’ll just refund the card,” but when I checked several days later, I was told, “You will have to go through Expedia.” That doesn’t take responsibility for the guest’s experience. A property using online booking sites still needs clear arrival instructions, reachable support, and a real way to sort things out when there’s a problem. I won’t book here again, and I can’t recommend it.
