Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Eau Claire Chippewa Falls

We got a free upgrade to an expanded king suite as Gold Elite members, which we really appreciated. The hotel also looked fairly new and had lovely Christmas decorations. We arrived around 9 pm, later than we usually like to check in, and the computers were down. With several people ahead of us, the wait felt endless, but the front desk employee was doing their best, so we understood and didn't mind waiting. We'd happily stay here again when visiting or passing through Eau Claire.

The bathroom fan ran constantly, with no switch to turn it off. I asked the front desk and was told every room is like that. We also had no hand soap in our room. Still, it's a clean, comfortable, newer hotel, with very comfy beds, a full breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff. Restaurants take a bit of a drive to reach, though not too far, and there's a Kwik Trip gas station and convenience store close by. I'd stay here again without hesitation and recommend it to others.

The check-in and service were outstanding, and the hotel feels new and well cared for. There can be a moderate amount of highway noise in rooms at the front. I'd come back, but would probably request a quieter spot.

The room was spotless, the shower had decent pressure and temperature, and thankfully I only had to stay one night. It was the loudest room I've ever had, though. Honestly, it seemed quieter outside than inside. I'd booked three months ahead, but arrived at 7 pm and was told this was the last room. It was right off the lobby, where doors slammed, adults chatted, kids yelled, luggage rolled by, and people watched some kind of sports game loudly for hours. Around 1 am things quieted down, then started again around 6 am, along with a strong egg smell from breakfast. People were also looking for the elevator after using the pool, and I don't know what was above my room, but it sounded like someone dropped a sofa about seven times overnight. I didn't complain because the employee had already said it was their last room, so I couldn't see how that would help. Either he wasn't telling the truth or there really weren't other rooms. I'd advise against staying here unless you're loud yourself and don't mind noise.
