Motel Edgewood

I won't come back. The room had live roaches, which is completely unacceptable. The sheets were dirty and yellowed, with cigarette holes in them. The TV didn't work, the tub was dirty, and the carpet didn't look like it had been vacuumed in a long time.

The staff were very friendly, and I loved that the man running the place feeds the birds. It was quiet and well maintained, and I slept really well for the price. One heads-up: the soda machine outside charged me $4 for one soda after eating my $2. I didn't ask for a refund, since I consider that my tip. Thanks!

We paid for a week in advance and stayed through it because they wouldn't refund our money. The room smelled of mold and mildew, and the bed was old and worn. Linens had holes, the comforter smelled as if it had never been washed, and the small towels were ragged. When I asked the female maid for an extra towel, she rudely refused. We also saw our things moved around and drawers gone through more than once, even though the sign says staff may enter at any time. The male and female cleaners never made the bed. To get sheets changed, we had to strip the bed ourselves, then they'd leave fresh sheets for us to make it. Churches brought food and necessities for families staying there with children, who were paying $65-$80 a night, or over $500 a week. The owners and workers were first to take the food meant for those families. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the owners also came back from the local Epic Center with a truckload of 15-20 bags of free food meant for people struggling to feed their families, while collecting room rent. They seemed greedy and took advantage in every way. Don't stay there or give them your money.

I lived in room 107 for six months at one point, and went broke.
