Home2 Suites By Hilton Effingham

The rooms are spacious and have what you need, and the hotel is clean with a nice gym. The location is good, but getting there was confusing. My maps sent me through parking lots, so it took some effort to find. There’s a nice pool, though no hot tub. Breakfast doesn't start until 7 on weekends, which is too late for business travelers with an early start. Highway noise was pretty loud, so light sleepers may notice it. I sleep with the TV on, so it didn't bother me.

We stayed twice, once before and once after an Amtrak trip, and would happily come back. The place seems fairly new and was immaculate throughout, from the rooms to the common areas. There are plenty of nearby restaurants, plus easy shopping if you’ve forgotten something. On both visits the shower got warm but not hot. That was a small issue, and I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

The room was roomy and clean, with a good-sized fridge, sink, microwave, and dishwasher. Breakfast was wonderful, and the staff were pleasant and happy to answer our questions. I'd recommend staying here for the good food and customer service.

Breakfast starting at 7 on weekends was the one drawback. For people who need to get on the road early, it would help to start serving at 6, or at least put out a basic continental option. We travel across the country every year and usually choose Hilton properties. This place checked nearly all our boxes: clean, quiet, nicely decorated, with spacious rooms, helpful staff, and a fantastic gym.
