Best Western Plus Placerville Inn

We were visiting family in Placerville, so the location worked really well, with Safeway and Walmart nearby. We brought our dog, and there was a large grassy area for dogs. The room was comfortable, and the free breakfast was good. It did take forever for hot water to reach the sink.

The room was clean by usual BW standards, breakfast was good, and the reception staff were extremely nice and helpful. Still, the building and rooms look tired and could use renovation. There was noisy maintenance work in the downstairs corridor during my stay. The building entry keypad and vending machines worked only about half the time. My room faced the freeway, and passing trucks sounded very close because the worn window seals made it feel as if the windows were open.

We always stay at this Best Western when we're in a small town, and the staff are consistently friendly and polite. Daphne, who serves food in the store, did a wonderful job. Go see her when you visit, she makes you feel right at home.

My partner and I booked one night, but around 8:30 pm another guest unlocked our occupied room with a key from the front desk. They realized we were there and left, but they had clearly been told that our assigned room was theirs too. Afterward our key cards stopped working, so we had to get new ones. When we raised it with the front desk, they seemed uninterested and said the night staff hadn’t filed a report. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
