La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham El Paso East

We were on a family road trip from Texas to New Mexico, and this made a great overnight stop. The hotel was neat and clean, the facilities were in top condition, and the staff were friendly. We’ll consider staying here again.

The room was fine, nothing wrong with it, and the location was handy, close to food and a gas station. The price surprised me, but after a 17-hour drive I was too tired to complain. A warm bed was all I wanted. We arrived at 11:30 p.m. after driving all day from California, and I was worried about finding a room since we needed to sleep before heading back to California in the morning. The woman at check-in was great, very nice, and found me a room quickly that had exactly what I needed. She also gave me directions to a gas station, a restaurant open late, and my final destination before I left Texas.

The walls are so thin you can easily hear people talking in the next room. I was placed by the elevator, which was noisy, and I really don’t like staying there. I gave it a chance, but I won’t take an elevator-side room again. The front desk staff were OK, though timid, and didn’t ask what floor I preferred like most hotels do. Front desk, please ask guests about room or floor preferences.

It was okay, but the rooms weren’t styled very nicely and it was loud. We had to call maintenance about the AC and a sink that wouldn’t drain. They came right away, though. Morning customer service was wonderful, while the evening service felt a little uncomfortable.
