Magnuson Hotel El Paso West

The keys we were given didn’t work, and we were exhausted, so we went straight to bed. We didn’t get any sleep because of bedbugs. In the morning we saw blood stains on the sheets from them. For $76, it wasn’t worth it. I won’t stay here again and strongly don’t recommend it.

We arrived around 2 on my birthday, January 19, and the younger woman at the desk was pleasant. We got our room right away, showered, got ready, and left around 4. We were out until about 10. Since we’d never stayed there before, we checked in at the desk again, and then went back to the room to get ready to shower once more. When my girlfriend lifted the covers to make the bed, there was a large patch of urine in the middle. It started making the room smell awful very quickly. We packed and went downstairs to report it, not to scam anyone or ask for a refund. The first woman blamed us and asked if we were sure it wasn’t ours. We had only just returned to the room. We were from out of town and asked to change rooms, but the manager refused both a refund and a room change because we’d already showered. At about 10 that night, an older clerk told my girlfriend she had no education for asking for a refund, and said they get scammers like us all the time. She called both of us Mexican. I’m from Mexico, but I have a Texas driver’s license. She accused us of making false claims and threatened to call the police because we were rude. I paid $60 just to shower in room 219 and nearly lie down on a bed with urine under the sheets. There was no obvious smell when we first entered. Never again. I’ll pay more for a five-star hotel from now on. I guess you get what you pay for.

Amazing hotel, with fairly priced vending machines, free breakfast, a spa, a pool, and more. I have a video of myself going underwater with my camera. I live in LA and am traveling to Mexico, so I’ll add the link when I can.

This is now the Inspera, and it’s helping us through these difficult times when we need a helping hand. They’re doing an awesome, incredible job with all the residents who follow the rules about housing, medical care, and COVID-19 testing. The staff are great, helpful, and respectful.
