Motel 6 El Paso, TX - West

The room and parking area both had a clear sewer-leak smell, and the property and lot were in rough shape. Still, the A/C worked, the clerk was pleasant and efficient, and the sheets were clean. Housekeeping seemed to have done what they could with the conditions they had. I often stay in budget motels while traveling and don’t expect much as long as the price feels fair. For me, this one fell a little below what the cost was worth.

I chose this hotel for its location and reserved a king room for two that was supposed to be wheelchair accessible. I booked more than two weeks ahead. At check-in, they said that room wasn’t available, but offered another one without a microwave or refrigerator, even though the website says all rooms have both. What we got was a small room with a double bed and a large bathroom with a decent-sized shower. The clerk offered to move us when I called the office, but the other room wasn’t accessible. In the morning I went for the advertised complimentary coffee, but the lobby was locked and a sign directed me to a night drop box. We won’t stay here again.

I spent three nights here and had no trouble with outside or neighbor noise, even though the hotel is close to the highway. Everything was neat and clean, and the staff did a great job. They were responsive even at 1:30 a.m. I’d highly recommend it.

I’ve stayed at hundreds of Motel 6 locations while traveling around the country, and this one is stellar. It’s very clean, smells good, and the staff are friendly. Most of all, my beloved dog is comfortable here. There are plenty of amenities within walking distance, too.
