Quality Inn Elgin I-90

The elevator wasn't working, which was my one real complaint. Otherwise, the room was very clean, the shower had been updated, and the place was quiet with a good location and a friendly front desk. Breakfast was okay: eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal, milk, waffles, and apple and orange juice. Bring your own body wash and lotion and you'll enjoy your stay.

Breakfast had lots of fresh, tasty options, and the lobby looked elegant. The whole place felt warm and welcoming, with lovely attention to detail. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

I got in from the airport early in the morning with nowhere to go and just wanted to sleep. I'd booked a $60 room through Booking.com, but at the desk I was told check-in wasn't until 3 PM. To get in right away, I'd have to pay another $91. The way they spoke to me was shocking. Around 8 AM I asked if I could cancel and get my money back. They said the manager wasn't there and would arrive at 10 to deal with it. I booked another hotel across the street, but later that afternoon they rejected my refund request. This was the worst service I've ever had. Avoid this horrible place, there are no real people there!

Three nights here were a complete garbage experience. My room key cards stopped working after one or two uses, so I had to get replacements about five times. I asked for room service twice before finally getting it on the third try. At night, I couldn't get clean towels because the front desk clerk supposedly couldn't access them then. I also couldn't get paper or plastic plates to heat up food, since they said those were put away after continental breakfast and they didn't have the key. The staff seemed to hate their jobs and it showed.
