Location was the one real plus, and the employees were friendly. Still, I won't stay here again. I'm a Diamond member and travel for work every week, often trying to keep costs down since I pay for my own stays. I've tried most Choice hotels and plenty of Quality Inns, and this one was a mess. The room was filthy and uncleaned, with stained walls and sheets, and cockroaches greeting me when I arrived. The door wouldn't open or close right, and I had to ask several times for a new key because I couldn't get into my room. Why take a $50 deposit to protect what, the roaches? It's been over a week and the credit card deposit still hasn't been returned. Be careful, since the Choice reservation page doesn't mention a deposit. I'll contact corporate to report this. It's embarrassing that this hotel is part of the Choice line, and they should remove the franchise. It reflects very badly on them.

The staff were nice to me, though I saw them be a bit rude to a few other people. Someone also banged on my door around 3 a.m. each night asking, “Room service?” That's not the hotel's fault, but it didn't help. After my first night, I drove the hour and a half home each day for the rest of the week. I've stayed in plenty of bad motels, and this one was the worst. It smelled every day like the cleaning person had smoked in my room. The water pressure was unpleasantly high, the AC spat water and sounded like a moped, trash was scattered outside, the TV didn't work, and the towels were strangely tiny and poor quality. Breakfast wasn't good, so don't expect much. I know it's no Ritz, but this place should be shut down. Don't come here.

The beds were fine for our trip, and the price was on the cheaper side, but I wouldn't have wanted to stay longer than one night. It looked like renovations might be underway, and the breakfast area was lovely. We were told at check-in that breakfast ran until 10, but when we arrived at 9:15 everything had already been put away. They did give us a couple of pieces of fruit and some muffins. We'd booked early but arrived late. When I opened our room, it was clearly still a mess and unavailable. We were told the property was booked and maybe only two rooms remained. The room we got was adequate for sleeping, though it had no key access. The hotel seemed almost like a shelter, with people living there. Materials had been stuffed into door latch slots so doors wouldn't latch, and I had to remove several things from ours. One outlet was covered with tape or something, there was a shower cap over the smoke detector, and the bathroom doorknob wasn't properly attached.

The room turned out better than I expected after reading the reviews: the AC was cold, the bed was clean, and there was hot water. At the front desk, a very pleasant receptionist from New York chatted with me while getting our keys ready. We didn't need much or ask for anything, so I can't really say how responsive the staff might be, but every interaction we had was pleasant. It's easy to reach from the interstate, with lots of stores and restaurants nearby. It's no Ritz Carlton, but for the price I'd stay again.

We checked in at Quality Inn and waited for a pizza to arrive. It finally showed up cold, so we heated it in the microwave. Looking closer, what seemed like crumbs was moving. It wasn't crumbs. Roaches were crawling all over us, and we left. It was early New Year's morning, and my wife had thought we'd stay rather than drive home. I was ashamed to bring her there. The front door was locked when I went to report it. I tried to reach the manager or whoever was on duty, but nobody answered the door. When I called later, someone said she'd get in touch with him, but there was no call back. We wanted our money back and had to pay again to stay somewhere without roaches running around in the microwave. I called several times the next day because nobody was in the office that evening. One person said the manager should call, but he never did. I called again today and asked them to check the two saved accounts of what happened. They apologized but casually refused a refund, as if they're fine with the hotel being this way. I told them I hadn't asked for extra roach guests in my room and shouldn't have to pay for that. My remaining options seem to be the Better Business Bureau and the credit card company.
