Etown Motel

The towels in my room were stained, a light fixture was hanging partly loose from the ceiling, and I had to fiddle with the AC to keep it running. The door didn’t feel secure enough for me to leave my things there. I also found bugs in the bed, though I don’t know if they were bedbugs. Checkout at 10:30 a.m. felt ridiculously early. The inside was even worse than the outside, and I was embarrassed to stay there. The front desk seemed nice at check-in, then turned rude. I went out during the night once and saw police talking to someone in another room. It felt like that kind of place. There are much better options in Elizabethtown for the same price.

I’ve unfortunately been here twice. They said they had a room, but when I arrived, after telling them I use a wheelchair, they said they had nothing for me. After they turned us away, the daughter or wife cursed me out for some random reason and said, and I quote, “this is why your handicapped.” This place needs to be shut down.

We’re stranded in Elizabethtown, and a church paid for our stay. I’m in a wheelchair. When another church offered to pay for one more night, the hotel wouldn’t accept the voucher and made up a story about a wedding and being booked. When we asked about it, he was nasty and just said, “you go, go.” The rooms aren’t nice or very clean, and I saw roaches. If you have a choice, don’t stay here.

The place was quiet and mostly clean, but I left because housekeeping kept ignoring my request not to be disturbed in the morning. I work nights, yet they banged on the door at 8:30 every day and tried to push their way in while shouting that they had to inspect the room. I got tired of it and found somewhere that respects a Do Not Disturb sign. I’m not even upset that they didn’t refund the final night’s fees. Management should realize that alienating guests isn’t a good way to run a hospitality business. I can’t give this motel high marks.
