Kentucky Cardinal Inn

My husband, who is a senior with health problems, stopped here overnight while traveling through Elizabethtown. He asked for a ground-floor room, but the desk clerk turned him down even though several rooms were vacant. I can’t see any excuse for treating a potential customer that way. He left and found another place without trouble, and I wouldn’t recommend this motel.

It’s a fair motel, but don’t expect a Holiday Inn. The place looked dated as soon as we came in, and the air felt really damp and muggy. The bed was okay, though the sheets didn’t look very clean. At least there were no bedbugs. If you’re passing through and need a cheap room for one night, it’ll do.

I’ve been here about three months. The hotel is a little dated, but I’ve watched them make the rooms nicer day by day. Since I arrived, they’ve put a new fridge, microwave, and furniture in my room and several others. Management is pleasant and easy to deal with.

We keep coming back here after trying other local hotels for a night or two. My family and I have been staying here on and off for nearly a month, and it has the warm, homey atmosphere we’re used to. The place is as clean as can be and the people are down-home friendly, just one in a million.
