Super 8 Elkhart

I couldn’t get much information by phone either. After about five rings, someone answered amid a loud noise, maybe a vacuum, and didn’t speak English. I asked if I’d reached Super 8 and couldn’t make out the reply. Why answer a business phone without first turning that noise off? I started by seeing Super 8 on Google Maps, then went to the Wyndham website because I prefer booking that way with my rewards card, but the Elkhart location wasn’t listed. I double-checked the address and street view, and it was clearly there. Strange, I’ve never run into that before. The call wasn’t worth the bother.

I work third shift and arrived more than two hours early. For the second time, the staff let me into my room early at no charge, since my work and sleep hours are flipped compared with the average guest. I’ll stay here again.

I stayed at Super 8 for four days while in town and would come back. The location is handy, beside Starbucks and close to lots of restaurants and shops. The lobby is clean, the hotel has two floors, and the rooms look renovated. My queen room looked nice enough, the bed was cozy, and the front desk staff were always friendly and courteous. There’s breakfast and a washer and dryer if you need them. The iron was missing and the blow dryer didn’t work, but that wasn’t a big deal because the room was cozy.

The room was cozy and worth the money, and the guy at the counter was amazingly cool when I checked in. You can tell the owners took pride in fixing the place up. Every hotel has its downsides, but I’ve got nothing bad to say. If maintenance and housekeeping keep doing their jobs, this’ll be a great hotel for years. Thanks for a home away from home.
