Fairfield Inn & Suites Elkhart

The breakfast was advertised to start at 6:00, but when I came down at 6:30 there was nothing, not even a hot cup of coffee. The room entry door wasn’t working properly, something housekeeping could easily have reported. Wallpaper was coming off the wall and held up with blue painter’s tape, possibly because of moisture. Yikes, this hotel isn’t representing the Marriott brand well.

We had a wonderful stay over Christmas. The room was spacious and clean, the beds were extra comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. From check-in with Kara, who was super friendly and accommodating, to housekeepers Wanda and Ceno, everyone was cheerful, upbeat, and ready to help with what we needed. Beverly and Chris were lovely too. Thanks for all you do!

I won’t stay there again. Honesty means a lot to me, and I know for a fact I left my white shirt there. It blended into the white bedding, and I only realized when I got home. I called right away and offered to pay shipping because I’d had the shirt only a week. It was Sunday, and they told me to call back Monday. On Monday they said the room hadn’t been cleaned yet. That night, they said they needed to check whether laundry had found it. By Tuesday afternoon, nobody had found it. When I said someone must have decided to keep it, the person on the phone said it wasn’t anyone’s type. How would she know that nobody would want a plain white, 100% cotton, button-down A.N.A dress shirt if they hadn’t found it?

I was there for a swim meet, about 15 minutes from Elkhart health and fitness center. The room was clean but looked old, and breakfast was a bit disappointing. At least the milk and yogurt had been replenished. As a Marriott member, I asked for a noon checkout and the front desk lady said she could only allow that, without checking the system. Other Marriott hotels normally let me check out at 1 or 2 pm. More disappointing, she let other guests check out at 1 pm. Not sure why the policy was different for different guests.
