Residential Inn - Extended Stay

We spent over eight months here and around $13,000 on a less-than-average room. The housekeepers were friendly and did a good job, but the owner has some things to learn about running a business with grace. Knowing we’d be staying a long time, I asked for a discount and got one, but it disappeared after two weeks without explanation. When I asked, I got a lame excuse that it was only temporary. My wife has a disability, so moving to another motel was a hassle I didn’t want. Looking back, I’d shop around. The fridge had no freezer, so I bought one for the room. We also dealt with periodic cold showers until I pushed the owner to hire a plumber and fix it properly. We got a $100 discount for those showers, but while waiting for a solution I was heating water and using a bucket. At checkout, the final straw was being charged $40 for a stained blanket we hadn’t used except to drape over a wall mirror. We can only guess moisture was coming in through the floor, which would be reason enough to find a better motel. We paid over $1,500 a month for a tiny room that didn’t smell great, then got docked for a stain that may have come from a structural moisture problem. It felt like adding insult to injury. After this experience, we’d look elsewhere.

This family-owned place made me feel like having me as a guest was an honor, not just a room rental for the night. Everyone was so nice. The service was great from the first phone call with the daughter through check-in with the dad. He asked me to look over the room and make sure it was satisfactory, and to let him know if I needed anything. It was clean, nice, and comfortable, and the price was great. I’ll definitely stay again if I’m in the area.

The hotel is brand new, and every room is a suite with a fireplace. There’s also one outside the hotel.
